Visible Mending Workshop
Visible mending blends function (patching holes) with aesthetics( artistic embroidery) Make your clothing into wearable art!
Lots of things need mending right now, from our hearts to our social connections. Let's get started by mending out clothes, to get more wear out of them. Whether you handmake your clothes, or buy fast fashion from the stores, you can make your clothing last longer, plus turn it into something unique and personal to you!
We'll use embroidery, and basic patching (both visible and inside), and discuss what techiques that will work best artistically.
Note: Formal sashiko techniques, woven darning, and swiss darning are outside the scope of this class.
