Knit Your First Sweater
In this class, I’ll walk you through the Step by Step Sweater pattern by Florence Miller. This pattern has helped literally thousands of knitters take the leap from knitting hats, scarves, and shawls into making full-size garments. The pattern is extremely beginner friendly, but I plan to show you how to elevate some of the design elements for an even more sophisticated final product.
This class meets every other Saturday to accommodate a slower knitting pace for beginner knitters, and to give you time to recoup in case big mistakes happen and you need to restart sections of the sweater.
I will teach you the specific knitting techniques required to make a raglan sweater with neck shaping, but also provide a higher-level understanding of garment construction when knittinsweaters, including how to make and read gauge swatches.
Skill level: Novice/beginner. This is not a class in which you will learn how to knit, but may be a good fit if you have completed the Advanced Beginner Knitting class.
When: Saturdays, September 26, October 10, October 24, and November 7 from 12:30-2:30 pm.
