Italian Tubular Bind Off is a technique for finishing ribbed edges such as hems, cuffs, and collars such that your ribbing has the appearance of rolling over the edge of your garment. It is fairly stretchy, but most importantly, it adds a level of polish when completing your garments.

In this 2-day workshop, we will learn how to manage your stitches to do the Italian tubular bind off on 2x2 ribbing, 1x1 ribbing, flat knitting, circular knitting, and to do the bind off on two needles, as well as on one needle.

Skill level: Intermediate knitting. Highly recommended to attend the Kitchener Stitch class on Oct 11, if possible!

Materials:

• Day 1: bring in a swatch (25-35 sts wide x 3 inches deep) of 2x2 ribbing knit flat. Use worsted weight yarn in a solid color that you can clearly see your stitches. Knit on US 5, 6, or 7. Bring either a pair of straight needles one size smaller than what you used to knit the swatch, or an empty circular needle with 16” or 24” cord. You cannot participate in this class without the swatch.
• Day2: bring in a swatch (30 sts x 3 inches deep) of 1x1 ribbing knit in the round. Use worsted weight yarn in a solid color that you can clearly see your stitches. Knit on US 5, 6, or 7. You cannot participate in this class without the swatch.
• Both days:bring approx. 20 yds of a contrast color yarn in the same weight as your swatch, tapestry needle, scissors.
