Color and Cables with Love Workshop - Kate Oates

$85.00
SKU:

Sunday June 8th, 9AM - 1PM

The 4-hour course experience will include all techniques but at a quicker pace. The longer version allows for a much more relaxed experience and students that intend to knit the featured pattern will likely have the opportunity to cast-on for their sweaters and begin with the help of the instructor.

This workshop features an incredibly versatile sweater design, however, knitting the sweater is not required, as we will be practicing techniques on a working swatch. Whether or not students wish to knit Lovebirds, the extensive list of techniques included will build their skillset for any number of projects going forward.

Techniques in this workshop include choosing the perfect size, swatching in-the-round, working from charts, colorwork tips, color dominance, two-handed colorwork, float management, cabling without a needle, short row shaping, calculating your ideal sweater and sleeve length, calculating extra yardage for length adjustments & finishing tips.

About the Featured Design

This project features an array of geometric colorwork worked seamlessly from the top down with yoked increases & short row shaping both at the shoulders and the bottom. The gentle A-line shape of the body combined with extra length at the hem complements curvy and straight body types alike.

Course Prep handout includes a chart for knitters who are already comfortable with two-handed colorwork, should they choose to swatch ahead of time to confirm their needle size so that they may potentially begin their project in class.
