Oh $#i7! You left your gift knitting to the last minute, didn’t you?? CHUNKY YARN PROJECTS TO THE RESCUE!

Join Lindsay to crank out three bulky yarn hats (one hat per week) in the lead up to the holiday season. Select unique colorways to make these flattering for the men, women, and non-binary recipients in your life. Please note that only one of these patterns offers sizing information for kids/teens, but we may be able to modify the other patterns.

The patterns selected for this class feature simple usage of the skills: stranded colorwork, traveling cables, and mosaic knitting. This is a great opportunity to explore these skills in a low-stakes and small scale way!

When: Saturdays, December 5, 12, and 19 from 10 am to noon.

Fee: $70

Seats: 6

Skill level: Advanced beginner knitting. This is not a class to learn how to knit for the first time. Two-handed knitting ability encouraged but not required. 

Required materials by week:

• Week 1: Fireside Plaid Beanie by Sarah Gross

• Needles: 16” or 24” circular needles size US 13 and 15 (or sizes needed to attain gauge)

• Yarns: 75-90 total yards of a super bulky yarn in 4 colors

• Recommended yarns: Cascade Pacific Bulky, solid colors of Malabrigo Rasta, or solid colors of Laines du Norde Young & Trendy.  

• Week 2: Divergence Beanie by Crochet by Jennifer

• Needles: 16” or 24” circular needles size US 11 and 13 (or sizes needed to attain gauge)

• Yarn: 75-85 yards of a super bulky yarn

• Recommended yarn: colorshifting colorways in Malabrigo Rasta, Laines du Norde Young & Trendy, or Knitting Forever Collection Six.

• Week 3: Candy Hearts Beanie by Judy Busby

• Needles: 16” or 24” circular needles size US 10 (or size needed to attain gauge)

• Yarn: 150-212 yards in two contrasting colorways (two solids or one solid and one ombre)

• Recommended yarns: Malabrigo Rasta, Cascade 128, Lana Grossa Crazy, Knitting Forever Collection Six, and Katia Wow Marshmallow XXL Tubular Yarn
