Description: 

In part A you will learn the basics of using a single-bed knitting machine using the Silver Reed LK 150:

-setting up your machine

- casting on

- increases and decreases

- short rows and other shaping

- changing yarns

- recovering from mistakes

In Part B, you'll use all of your new skills to make a simple top!

We will also go over how to transition back and forth between hand- and machine-knitting and how to swatch and plan your projects.

This class will be taught using only the Silver Reed LK150 Knitting Machine

Part A (intro to Knitting Machine) Saturdays 3/15, 3/22 2-4pm

Part B (make a simple top) Saturdays 3/29, 4/5 2-4pm

Course Fee: $150 for 8 hours of instruction

What to Bring: 

• Silver Reed LX150 and all of the tools that came with it.
• Scissors
• Yarn of an appropriate thickness for your machine, minimum 2 contrasting colors 100grams each
• You'll pick yarn for your top during class (10%off)

We do require a 72-hour advance notice for cancellations to receive credit for another class.  No credit, partial or full, will be given for cancellations made less than 72 hours prior to the start of the event.  This class is for adults, no children under 13 please.
