Beginning Rigid Heddle Weaving 

The Rigid Heddle Loom is portable, versatile and maybe best of all - EASY! If you are a yarn lover, rigid heddle weaving may be the best thing yet for quickly transforming your stash into beautiful, functional pieces for gift giving, decorating your home and accessorizing your wardrobe.

In this 2 week course Annette will help you get started on a weaving adventure that will expand your skills and tools as a fiber artist.

This class will be taught using only the Cricket loom, or Ashford SampleIt looms.

If you have a different brand of rigid heddle loom this is not the class for you.

When:  Saturdays, June 15th and 22nd  9am-12pm

Course Fee: $75 for 6 hours of instruction.

What to Bring: 

  • Assembled loom plus all the other things that came in the box, including booklet! LOOM MUST ALREADY BE ASSEMBLED
  • Scissors
  • 2 skeins of worsted weight yarn in at least 2 colors
  • Ruler
  • Large eyed tapestry needle with curved point

Course Outline:

Week 1:  Warping your loom, winding your shuttles, beginning to weave, changing colors

Week 2:  Removing your weaving, hem stitch, fringe techniques

The class is discounted if you purchase your loom and the class before the class begins.

We do require a 72-hour advance notice for cancellations to receive credit for another class.  No credit, partial or full, will be given for cancellations made less than 72 hours prior to the start of the event.  This class is for adults, no children under 13 please.
