Tailoring Workshop with Kate Oates
June 7th, 9 AM-4 PM, 6-hour workshop with a 1-hour break
Learn how to customize sweater designs for a better fit. This course walks knitters through ease, sizing, schematics and a little necessary math to make adjustments in patterns for a flattering and tailor-made project. Included are a slew of worksheets for adjusting stitches or rows in a particular section of a sweater. Also included are finishing tips to maximize profit in your knitvestment! Kate has created a fabulously detailed workbook for this course which will keep your fingers free for knitting and give you something to take home with everything you have learned. This course features Kate’s Sunday Crew pattern which is an ideal design to practice course techniques as it features modifiable ease, yoke depth and sleeve length. This workshop is accessible to knitters of almost any skill level; whether they are just starting off or have years of experience, there are goodies to be found. No matter the length of the course, all worksheets are provided. This is Kate’s most popular course and always leaves knitters with plenty of AHA moments that translate into garments that fit and flatter.

Students Must Bring

Yarn and appropriately sized circular needles according to the homework and chosen swatching option

Homework
Students will be supplied with a document that details their swatching options and allows them to swatch for the project of their choice. The only homework is to work 6 rows of garter stitch in order to set-up for a working swatch we will utilize in class.

We do require a 72-hour advance notice for cancellations to receive credit for another class. No credit, partial or full, will be given for cancellations made less than 72 hours prior to the start of the event. This class is for adults, no children under 13 please.
