Slippity Do Da Mosaic Felted Water/Wine Bottle Holder


Description for Slippity Do Dah Bag: Using slip stitch or mosaic knitting techniques and felting, students will create a bag that looks like Intarsia with an  i-cord handle.  The bag is knit flat and seamed.  Students will have a choice of sizes. 

This class will be taught in two sessions. The first session covers yarn choice and how to create mosaic pattern. The second will cover finishing, making the i-cord handle, and how to wet felt. Actual felting will not be done in class, but the technique will be thoroughly covered.

When:  Sundays, March 10th and 17th 10am-12pm

Instructor: Andrea Mordoh

Materials: For a medium size bag 10” x 7"

MC (background) - 1 skein worsted weight or approximately 166 yards of any worsted weight yarn that felts

CC - Approximately 109 yards of any worsted weight yarn with long color repeats that felts like Noro Kureyon

US 9, 5.5mm straights or circular

US 9 DPNs (optional if you are using circs)

Tapestry needle for seaming and weaving in ends.

 Techniques covered:  Mosaic/slip stitch knitting, how to read a chart, i-cord bind off, seaming and felting. 


Recommended for:  This is not a beginner’s class, students must already know how to knit and purl.

  We do require a 72-hour advance notice for cancellations to receive credit for another class.  No credit, partial or full, will be given for cancellations made less than 72 hours prior to the start of the event.  This class is for adults, no children under 13 please.
