Beginning Rigid Heddle Weaving on the Cricket Loom
The Schacht Cricket Rigid Heddle Loom is portable, versatile and maybe best of all - EASY! If you are a yarn lover, rigid heddle weaving may be the best thing yet for quickly transforming your stash into beautiful, functional pieces for gift giving, decorating your home and accessorizing your wardrobe.
In this 4 week course (plus optional pre-course workshop) Elle Warren will help you get started on a weaving adventure that will expand your skills and tools as a fiber artist.
This class will be taught using only the Cricket loom (available here)
If you have a different brand of rigid heddle loom this is not the class for you.
If you already know the basics of weaving taught in this class, consider taking Beyond the Basics Weaving (Coming in August 2018).

Course Fee: $100 for 8 hours of instruction
What to Bring:
Week 1: Weaving terms, warping your loom, winding your shuttles, beginning to weave, changing colors
Week 2: Removing your weaving, finishing, planning a project, warping with multi-colors, neat edges
Week 3: Reading a draft, solving problems, fibonacci scarf
Week 4: Clasped weft, some fancy stitches, final touches
Constructing Your Loom - for people who need help assembling their loom.
What to Bring:
- Complete contents of the box your Cricket came in
- Philips head screwdriver
